Curtis Allan Parks was born September 6, 1942 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Allan and Virginia Parks. He was surrounded by family and friends at the time that he passed from this life on Wednesday, December 18, 2013.
Curtis graduated from Will Rogers High School, class of 1960. He attended the University of Tulsa on a tennis scholarship, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Juris Doctor, and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He and his long-time friend and partner, Mike Beard, ran the Parks & Beard Law Firm for over 40 years. Curtis zealously represented his clients and was considered an outstanding trial lawyer. An avid sportsman, he was always happiest while hunting or fishing alongside his buddies and adoring dogs. Friends often stated that Curtis was a part-time lawyer, full-time hunter. He was a well-loved man who will forever be remembered as abundantly generous, optimistic, good-natured and humorous.
He married Judith Carol Pearson on February 28, 1964. They had a loving marriage for nearly 50 years. Curtis is survived by his wife, Judy; four children and their spouses, Jennifer and Chandran Mannar (Colorado Springs, CO), Jeff and Jeneal Parks (Tulsa, OK), Stephanie and Chris Wilkinson (Falls Church, VA), and Steve Parks (Tulsa, OK); seven grandchildren, Jared, Garrett, Candace, Chandler, Mallory, Justin, and Casie; and two sisters and their spouses, Corinne and Sam Pitts (Okmulgee, OK) and Helen and Jack Newman (Kennewick, WA). He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Jo Ann Fuller.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 22, 2013, from 1-3pm, at Freeman Harris Funeral Home in Tulsa. Burial services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10:30am, followed by the Memorial Service at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church at 11:30am.
